getting IT right
Many businesses don’t get the IT basics right. Correct procedures and
training can of course help when it comes to such simple things but
very often organisations need help and guidance.
pc-mac have of course seen networks and servers that have been put
together by ‘a friends son because he does web sites’ or by Bob in
accounts’ because he knows more than anyone else. These are both
ways of getting a business up and running on the cheap – but they’ll also
guarantee that at some point it’s going to cost a lot of money to correct
the problems this approach brings.
To help, we’ve put together a free document of fundamental IT basics,
called ‘Getting IT right’, which we think helps to provide a solid basis to
build IT systems on and builds your IT around your business, not the
other way round.
A lot of the points in the document cost nothing to adopt but can have a
positive effect on the security and efficiency of your IT. If nothing else
it’ll give you some ideas to think about when you’re network’s running
slow or your PC crashes and you can’t think why it’s happened to you!
